I’ve always said there is nothing like having your dinner served up to you and when it comes from the Lens & Larder duo, then all the better. The pair travelled from their homes in Connemara and Limerick respectively to curate a Seedlip dinner.

The non-alcoholic spirit brand was started in Lincolnshire by Ben Branson, whose family grew peas. He could see the potential, and now Ben is on a mission to change the way the world drinks by offering high quality non-alcoholic options. The dinner was to launch the citrussy Grove 42, which is the brand’s third spirit. We dined on a delicious meal prepared by The Grayson chef Jacson Reboli, and the themed food matched the drinks.

Chef Cliodhna Prendergast cut a dash in her metallic foil tunic from Galway’s ‘Tweed Project’ and her Lens & Larder co-founder, Imen McDonnell thoroughly spoiled me, pouring a giant jug of their rich green soup of stinging nettles and wild garlic in on top of garden flowers picked that morning.

It was utterly divine. Later, I got to chat with the Seedlip team including (above, left to right): Stewart Howard, European Brand Ambassador, Ellie Sparrow, Head of Brand Engagement, Gabriella Szopa, PR exec and Sam Gummer, Manager of Speciality Channels.

Right on cue, the sun came out for the launch of the new Avène sun care range. The French skincare brand hosted a ‘Sun School’ and pharmacist Laura Dowling (above, left), pictured with Denise Cantwell, Avène Territory Manager, explained the science and formulas behind the five new additions, including a Sport Fluid specifically developed for those who play sports and have sensitive skin.

Happy Songkran!

The Thai New Year festival, which marks the start of the new solar year and of summer, has arrived in style at Saba restaurants. They have introduced special Songkran menus showcasing Thai and Irish food, and they run until April 21.
